Review: Joyus Non-Alcoholic Wines
Headquartered in Seattle, Joyus takes great pride in being the “only sober-owned” and “only woman-owned non-alcoholic winery in the country”. Its founder, 17 years sober Jessica Selander, has a personal understanding of what it’s like not to “drink”, and is excited about the prospect of driving cultural change – making it “comfortably normal” not to drink alcohol be it for a night, a weekend, 9 months or beyond. The result – a passion to create a premium non-alcoholic wine that’s exciting to both the palate and social consciousness.
And the results so far have been impressive.
For the second year in a row, Joyus took home big-time hardware in the Best Non-Alcoholic wine category of The San Francisco International Wine Competition; one of the world’s most prestigious blind wine tastings since 1980. We know how hard it is to craft an award-winning non-alcoholic wine (we've done it twice ourselves), so we're extra impressed with what Joyus has managed to accomplish.
How can Joyus look, smell, and taste just like “real” wine you ask? Simple. Joyus leverages the industry’s top experts and utilizes the latest technology to gently remove the alcohol (dealcoholize the wine) without compromising quality or taste. Ready to try some? Here’s a review of the full lineup of Joyus non-alcoholic wines:
