Can You Buy Non-Alcoholic Wine at Walmart?

Can You Buy Non-Alcoholic Wine At Walmart?

With over 5,000 stores, Walmart is the undeniable retail king here in the U.S. “Walmart has everything!” they say. But do they really? While the company continues to expand its food and beverage options in stores across the country, we wanted to know whether or not the retail giant could be considered for our Where to Buy Non-Alcoholic Wine guide.

So, we decided to do some digging to see what we could find…

What Non-Alcoholic Wine Can I Buy at Walmart?

Short answer…there are several notable non-alcoholic wines available at Walmart.

But the long answer is a bit more complicated. While there is a small selection of non-alcoholic wine brands available through Walmart, not all these brands are easily found in physical stores. Some seem to only be available for sale online at Walmart’s website, and there’s no easy way to tell which is which.

Of course, we’re big believers in buying non-alcoholic wine online, as it greatly broadens the selection of tasty alcohol-free and alcohol-removed options available to you. But we do hope that Walmart eventually wises up to the boom in non-alcoholic wines, and decides to stock more options on their shelves in stores across the country.

All that to say, the non-alcoholic wines for sale at Walmart that we outline below may or may not be available at your local store. Your best bet is to call or to browse the aisles yourself next time you’re in the store to see what selection is available. If they don’t have the non-alcoholic wine brands you’re looking for, be sure to ask! The more all of us that ask about non-alcoholic wines, the more likely it is that Walmart will broaden their in-store selection.

With that, let’s take a closer look at the non-alcoholic wines you can expect to find at Walmart (both in-store and online):

St. Regis Secco Non-Alcoholic Prosecco

In our recent review of St. Regis non-alcoholic wines, we talked a lot about the complexity of the St. Regis Non-Alcoholic Secco. It’s light and bubbly, sure, but it also boasts a rich collection of flavors, amazing structure, and lively acidity. It also happens to be one of the very first non-alcoholic wines we tasted here at YOURS. And even though we have tasted countless options since then, the St. Regis Non-Alcoholic Secco is so good, it remains firmly on our list of 10 Best Non-Alcoholic Champagnes and Sparkling Wines.

We’re so happy to see Walmart carry this excellent option for celebrations, non-alcoholic cocktails, and everyday drinking!

Welch’s Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine and Cider

Similar to the non-alcoholic wine selection at Target, Walmart’s most readily available in-store option appears to be Welch’s Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wines and Ciders.

We get it. We really do. Welch’s is one of the original non-alcoholic wine substitutes.  And honestly, if you go in with the right expectations, Welch’s can make for a refreshing treat. While Welch’s Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Rosé is far from what a true, adult non-alcoholic rosé should taste like, it still boasts a lovely pink hue and light, refreshing collection of flavors on the palate. Welch’s Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Red also makes for an interesting drink, with a burst of tartness that makes this beverage feel far more “adult” than a glass of juice (though do be warned…there is a ton of sugar in these drinks!)

Ariel Non-Alcoholic Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay

While you’ll likely have better luck finding this non-alcoholic wine online than in Walmart’s stores, they do appear to carry both Ariel Non-Alcoholic Cabernet Sauvignon and Ariel Non-Alcoholic Chardonnay.

We’ve done an in-depth review of Ariel Non-Alcoholic Wine before, as it is one of the most commonly available non-alcoholic wines for sale here in the States. While neither option may be the most celebrated non-alcoholic wine, both the cabernet and the chardonnay sell well for a reason. They’re clean. They’re balanced. They’re interesting.

If you’re looking for non-alcoholic wine at Walmart that pours like a traditional glass of red or white, this is the place to start.

Honorable Mention: Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Ready to Drink Cocktails

While not a non-alcoholic wine, we did want to give Walmart credit where credit is due, and call out their collection of Lyre’s ready to drink options. Lyre’s has been a tremendous leader in the non-alcoholic space, and to see Walmart carry these non-alcoholic drink options is (in our opinion) a sign that they want to support this growing side of the industry.

These Lyre’s options will likely vary by store (once again, ordering from Walmart online may be your best bet), but from what we can tell, there are at least five Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Cocktails for sale. Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic American Malt & Cola is their take on a whiskey coke, with notes of oak, vanilla, rye, and spice. Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Dark & Spicy is their version of a Dark n’ Stormy, with the bite of ginger and warmth of spiced non-alcoholic rum. Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic G&T is of course their take on a classic gin & tonic. Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Amalfi Spritz is their canned version of a non-alcoholic aperol spritz. And finally, Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Classico is an alcohol-free take on a fruit-forward, champagne-based cocktail.

All that to say, there is no shortage of amazing Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Drink options available for sale at Walmart for those looking to skip the alcohol.

Does Walmart Sell Non-Alcoholic Wine?

If you’re new to non-alcoholic wine (or just need something in a pinch), Walmart has some options for you. But unfortunately, the leader in retail is decidedly behind the times when it comes to carrying a wide variety of the flavor-packed non-alcoholic wines available on the market today.

So, for anyone looking to buy non-alcoholic wine at Walmart, we wish you the best of luck in finding something you enjoy. However, we’d also strongly recommend that you check out some of the many other options for buying non-alcoholic wines…we promise you won’t be disappointed!
